Edgewater Community Council
Please note all the blank boxes, where real data illuminating the operations of this group should be found.
Edgewater Development Corporation
Interestingly, this organization owns in partnership, a building at 1127 Granville. Where Standee's used to be. It lost over $6200 on that building, according to the 2008 return and in excess of $3000 in 2009. We also understand that one of the board members for EDC also owns part of this building.
Edgewater Chamber of Commerce
One only has to ride through the neighborhood and the business districts (if you can call them that) to see what accomplishments this operation has made. The proof is in the pudding, and this pudding is rotten. According to their IRS forms, their primary purpose is to "market commercial space to QUALITY BUSINESSES and DEVELOPERS". They have been quite successful, haven't they? Of particular note: of their revenue of $182,000 a total of $165,000 was government money. The taxpayer pays for this fiasco. And, until she was fired, Sheli Lulkin was the Executive Director. Here is their annual report:
ASCO---No information found
This dictatorship is run by none other than Sheli Lulkin. Does her name sound familiar?
Sheridan Road Development Corporation
Who knows what this operation is up to. We do know its President Ron Simon is also on the board of directors of ASCO, and is in fact on very close terms with its President, Shelli Lulkin. He lives in the same building she does. It is listed as an IRS reporting entity, but no detailed information is available. What is this operation up to? Note: As of 2011, this 'organization' lost its tax exempt status, according to IRS notification.
Lincoln Park Advisory Council
Yet another group, made up of the same people and run by Sheli Lulkin. They supposedly have input into Chicago Park District decisions. God help us! It looks like this group is made up of less than a few dozen people, if that. They only have 12 paying members, each at $15. As of January 2010, they have a whopping $662 in the bank after donating to Friends of the Parks and the Chicago Park District. Who gave these elitists a mandate to provide any advice to anyone?
