About Us
We are a group of concerned citizens in Edgewater that are fed up with the near mob like actions of a select few so called leaders in this community. These so called leaders purport to speak for the community, when they are really speaking for themselves and their own selfish interests. They have gathered clout and power through the years of honest residents of this area being silent.....but not any more!

Look at the state of Edgewater: its vacant storefronts; its tenth tier business mix; and ask why: simply because of a few power mad individuals who have succeeded over the years in shutting everyone else out from real concensus decision making in this area and in the process have likely precluded some class operations from coming into the area.  Enough already! These egomaniacs must be called on the carpet and be held accountable. That, in short, is the mission of the Edgewater Intelligencer.

The Types of Articles We are Looking For

Instances of zoning shenanigans; attempting to preclude liquor licenses for no reason other than not liking the applicant; the attempt to preclude certain businesses from locating here; any community wide issue that has been appropriated by a select few, who purport to speak for the community; instances where lack of input from the community has not precluded organizations and individuals from taking a formal position; any topics relating to the workings of ASCO, ECC, EDC, NEBA, EBNA, Edgewater Chamber of Commerce that you can document are less than reflective of community wide polling, attendance at meetings and so forth.
